Nostromo is a 3D engine based on the same principles as Quake engine. Its technology includes:
- BSP tree world representation
- Visibility culling based on potential visibility set (PVS)
- Lightmaps
- Software renderer
- OpenGL renderer
- World, visibility and lighting compiler
- Simple physics for one observer
I had two main sources of inspiration when writing Nostromo: QMAP renderer by Sean Barret and Quake tools from id software.
